After graduating from the University of Buffalo with a useless degree, the reality of life and the necessity of paying bills was thrust upon me. Being young and bewildered, there appeared to be three options. The first would be to get a plain job and work for 45 years before retiring at 65 and finally doing what I wanted. Waiting 45 years was not so appealing. The second was in the form of advice received from my father. He said better to have a rich woman fall in love with me, than a poor one. Excellent idea, but what were the chances. The last option, and the one taken was to enjoy myself now and do what I really enjoyed and thus entered the numismatic world. By the way, at the time Jimmy Carter was president.
Fast forward a couple of decades and just past the turn of the century, Sansom Coin Exchange debuted on Philadelphia’s fabled Jewelers Row. The store was busy to say the least, and many new friends and customers were made. But as the years passed the daily grind of business wore on and was unrelenting. This is 2019, at the age of 65, the decision was made to withdraw for the rigors of everyday business dealings and begin to relax a bit more.
Still keen to buy all kinds of coins. Actively seeking larger collections and accumulations. And if you want to say hello, that would also be very nice, and most appreciated.
